Matthew Johnson

Matthew, co-managing director and co-founder of the Simplicity Loans & Advisory Group, originates from Sydney and brings extensive expertise in the financial services industry, with a strong emphasis on commercial lending and relationship banking. His career began in 2003 as a graduate with the National Australia Bank, where he dedicated 12 years to the Business Bank. During this time, he held various roles, including managing a senior portfolio of diverse commercial clients in Sydney’s CBD.

In 2014, Matthew transitioned into broking, where he facilitated transactions across a broad range of industries and client types. His experience spans large wholesalers, manufacturers, import/export businesses, construction projects, professional services firms, and commercial investments for high-net-worth families and internationally owned enterprises. He is deeply committed to client satisfaction, driven by a passion for solving complex problems, crafting innovative solutions, and helping individuals and businesses achieve their goals.

Matthew is widely recognized in the finance sector for his ability to build community and foster a sense of connection. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys traveling with friends to attend major sporting events. He has a particular love for cricket, rugby, and golf, with aspirations to witness a test match at Lords, play a round at St Andrews, and attend a Wallabies test in Dublin—all items on his personal bucket list.
